Rescue Box 14-40: 446 Princeton Avenue
T-13 dispatched mutual-aid to Fire District 4, along with R-12, by MCCC for a reported overturned vehicle with entrapment at the stated address. T-13 arrived in the area of the incident just after R-12 to find unattended HTPD vehicles blocking access to the street upon which the incident had occurred. T-13 positioned as close to the incident as possible and carried the portable generators, hydraulic equipment, and junkyard dogs up to the incident site. Upon arrival at the incident site, T-13 found an overturned vehicle that had rolled down an embankment from the roadway above and landed on the driver's side. The driver was heavily entrapped. T-13 used the junk yard dogs to stabilize the vehicle along with R-12's Rescue-Q-jacks. T-13 then used the NT Cutters and the large cutters to cut the passenger's side A-post & B-post. R-12 used a reciprocating saw to cut the roof from the passenger's side to the driver's side just over the rear seats. T-13 then maneuvered the NT cutters in around the entrapped driver to cut the Driver's side A-post & B-post. The roof was removed and BLS/ALS performed a rapid take down of the driver using a long board. The patient was extricated form the vehicle at 22:50 hours. T-13 packed up the equipment removed from the vehicle and stood-by until released by Command. Once released, T-13 returned in-service/available.
