April 2013 – Greenwood Avenue – Technical Rescue Assignment
April 3, 2013 – Hamilton Fire District #3 was dispatched to a technical rescue assignment at 1842 Greenwood Avenue. Engine 14 arrived on scene to confirm one worker pinned beneath roof and roofing materials on third floor.
Chief 13 arrived on scene, established Command and placed all companies into service.
Through a coordinated effort from Truck 13, Engine 14, Squad 12, Engine 16, Engine 19, the second floor ceiling was shored up allowing for the systematic removal of debris from the patient.
Once all debris was removed from patient, the patient was removed from the building to the awaiting ambulance and transported to Regional Medical Center Trauma Unit for further evaluation.
Crews remained on scene until the building was evaluated by structural engineers and Hamilton Twp. Construction department.
